Tools for skiving, texturing, and preparing smaller tire repair areas.

Rubberhog® 1/4″ Shaft Tools are designed for preparing smaller tire repair areas during tire repair and retreading operations. These tools are commonly used for skiving and texturing exterior section repairs, cleaning repair cavities, and performing small buzzout repairs.

Available in a range of shapes including spheres, tapers, rotor saws, and nail hole reamers, these tools allow technicians to access tight repair areas and properly prepare the rubber surface prior to installing repair materials.

Larger spheres, tapers, and rotor saw designs are often used for high-tread skiving, while smaller spheres are ideal for chamfering injuries around the inner liner before installing patch or patch-stem repair units. Nail hole reamers are also used for preparing injuries in bias tires.

These tools provide controlled material removal in areas where larger buffing wheels cannot easily reach. Recommended max RPM is 25,000.

1/4″ Shaft Tools

  • Larger Spheres, Tapers & Rotor Saw are excellent for high-tread skiving.
  • Smaller Spheres chamfer around injuries on liner; don’t take a chance on entrapped air!
  • Nail Hole Reamers are for bias tires.
